Smalltown Boy photo guide
Use one clearly identifiable subject in each image. The first photo represents A, the initial camera reaction; the second represents B, the initial dancer. The references identify subjects rather than the first and last frames.
Try the photo setupChoose a reference for performer A
A starts in the prominent camera reaction. Pick a sharp photo where the whole face is visible, with light across both sides. Keep enough shoulders or body to show the intended clothing.
A tight crop can describe a face but gives less information about the outfit. If clothing matters, use a wider original instead of painting missing body parts into a headshot. Avoid heavy filters, opaque sunglasses and hands covering the face.
Give performer B a readable body
B begins with the dancing role. A clear waist-up or full-body image lets you inspect posture and clothing before submission. Do not use a distant crowd image where the intended subject occupies only a few pixels.
The two pictures do not need matching backgrounds. They do need unambiguous identities. Differences in perspective or lighting are things to inspect in a result, not proof that a generation will fail or succeed.
Check the actual file
The local check accepts JPG, PNG and WebP, up to 10 MB per file. The shorter side must be at least 300 pixels and the image must be no larger than 25 megapixels. A corrupted or unsupported file can still have a familiar extension.
- Export unsupported formats to JPG, PNG or WebP using your photo editor.
- Open the export locally and check the subject is not cropped off.
- Add each file and wait for its check to finish.
- Replace an invalid image in the specific slot shown by the main button.
Assign roles before leaving the page
Swap exchanges both files and their labels. It does not create a generated preview. After swapping, compare A and B again and choose the cast that fits the two subjects.
Before the enabled studio directs you to sign-in, it tries to retain both photos on this browser for up to one hour. On return, permission must be confirmed again. If storage is unavailable, the studio explains that you will need to re-add the files.
Keep your originals
A local draft is temporary and belongs to the browser, not your account library. Different browsers or devices do not share it. Clear photos removes the studio draft; closing a tab is not a promise that every browser storage record is deleted immediately.
Keep the original images until you have reviewed the final output. A larger upload does not guarantee a better likeness, and another take can change even with the same reference photos.
Your questions, answered
Are A and B start and end frames?
No. They identify two different subjects in the same scene.
Can I use the same image twice?
This setup requires different photo files for its two references. Choose a separate image for each slot.
Will an uploaded group photo let me select a face?
There is no face-selection tool inside an image. Use one subject per file.
